was much easier to watch when not distracted by a half naked zach galifianakis (yes i had to look up the spelling)
actually quite funny, although 'alan' did seem to steal the show.

road trip

went to the family get together yesterday.
was pleasantly surprised to see my brother and his wife there. my sister said they were going to be in florida this weekend. turns out it's next week.

roads were a mess on the way down. took three hours for what normally takes 2.
saw at least 9 accidents. from what i could tell they walked away from all of them although a couple were up on the hillside almost pointing straight up.

something of a mixed blessing seeing them all. always good to be with them but all they seemed to talk about was their ailments.
keeps reminding me these people are starting to get up there in years.
which keeps reminding me that so am i, although not quite as fast as they are lol.

old roomie showed up tonight out of the blue. says he can have the money he owes me some time this week and was wondering if i still had the guitar he gave me as collateral.
says he's doing what he can to get his life right and cutting back on his drinking etc etc. says he's still at the same jobe he got a year or two ago and that is a change for him.
if the guitar IS a les paul like it says it is i'm wondering if he just wants it back to pawn it off. with the maker dying recently i'm sure even in the shape it's in it could go for a grand or two.
did i mention he also took money from me when all he had to do was ask?
as i've said before....who needs soap operas?

one of the other reasons to miss the other house: lack of door to door people.
being on one of the main streets now means people walking by more than on the dead end street i was on.
have had the jehovah's witnesses, kids from school, and today the was a semi-cute guy from time warner asking if i wanted to upgrade to the trifecta (tv,internet,phone) they have.
yeah i miss the other house.
although he was KINDA cute.

took my cell phone out of my shirt pocket and put it somewhere while cleaning out the cat boxes.
later i forgot where i put it. looked all over.
finally decided to call it and follow the ringing.
went into the one room heard it ringing and still couldn't find it.
stopped listened and finally found it.

spent sunday night and most of monday in rochester. spent the night with a friend i met at camp and at least half the day with someone i've been chatting with off and on for a couple years now and his partner.
was a very interesting sent of contrasts.
one seemed very nervous, and the other seemed mostly, shall we say, 'outgoing' ;)
